Your files have a home.
They stay there.
Privacy policy for Disklume and this website.
Plain language. A clear picture of your data.
Your scans stay on your Mac.
Disklume is a macOS storage visualization app developed by Rohit Ranjan. It reads file and folder metadata on your Mac’s internal storage to help you understand space usage.
Scans can record names, paths, sizes, timestamps, and filesystem identifiers. Disklume processes this information locally. It does not upload scans to the developer or to a server, include advertising or analytics SDKs, or require a Disklume account.
You choose what it can see.
You authorize folders through macOS permission dialogs. The App Store edition remembers access with macOS security-scoped bookmarks. Some protected locations remain inaccessible; the app reports partial coverage where appropriate.
Scanning reads metadata and does not intentionally download cloud-only file contents. If you explicitly open a Quick Look preview, macOS may read or download that selected file to display it. Disklume does not delete or move the original files it scans.
History and exports are yours.
Saved scans and preferences are stored locally in the app’s container in the sandbox edition. In History & compare, you can clear saved scans or set a retention limit. Clearing history does not delete your original files or clear favorites and remembered folder permissions.
You can export scan metadata as CSV or JSON to a location you choose. File names and paths are omitted by default and are included only if you enable that option. You control any subsequent sharing. Your backup software or a cloud-synced destination may copy local files according to your own settings.
No off-device scan collection.
The Disklume app does not collect your scan data off your device. If you email support, the information you choose to include—such as your email address, message, and attachments—is used to respond to your request and troubleshoot the issue. Avoid sending sensitive file names or scan exports unless needed.
Apple handles App Store distribution, purchases where applicable, TestFlight feedback, and platform diagnostics under its own policies and your settings. These services are separate from Disklume’s local scanning. See Apple’s privacy policy.
